3) Lost to Translation

Listed below are the Novels published around the World yet to be translated in English, or yet to be provided with an English translation worthy of the author’s original intention.

This list is purely subjective, but publishers should take note, these are the books we believe should be available in English. If anyone has started their own translation work on one of these books, please send us the first chapter, and we’ll try and get you a contract with one of our contacts in the industry.

Novels awaiting an English version

Daniel Arsand – En silence (France)

Original Language: French,

Year of publication: 2000,

This is simply a masterpiece – but as far as I can tell we have yet to see an English version.  The French style might prove too difficult to translate.

Beatrice Beck – L’enfant chat (Belgium)

Original Language: French,

Year of publication: 1984.

A short read, but worth every word.

Antonio Tabucchi – Tristano muore: una vita (Italy)

Original Language: Italian

Year of Publication: 2004

Tabucchi is often mentioned as a future Nobel Prize winner, and this may very well be his best Novel.

Joan F Mira – Purgatori (Spain)

Original Language: Catalan

Year of Publication: 2003

If you can read Catalan you can have a look at some extracts from this Novel.
